Biography
Arline Burks Gant is an American costume designer, director and actress. She is credited as costume designer on the films Daughters of the Dust (1991) and Deep Cover (1992).
A Cleveland native, she began in modelling before designing her own clothing line and opening a factory in Senegal. She moved into costume design after creating concepts for recording artists signed to Motown Records. Gant has also directed children's videos, short films and stage productions, and received the 1992 Costume Designer of the Year award for her work on the stage play Joan and the Zulus.
