Biography
Art Buchwald (1925–2007) was an American writer and humorist. Born in Mount Vernon, New York, he became a syndicated columnist for the Washington Post and wrote more than thirty books, mostly collections of his satirical columns.
He contributed additional English dialogue to Jacques Tati’s PlayTime (1967). Buchwald also wrote for other films and television, including Surprise Package (1960), and appeared in small acting roles. In 1988 he successfully sued Paramount Pictures over the film Coming to America.
