Biography
Art Hindle is a Canadian actor and television director. Born Arthur Hindle on 21 July 1948 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he grew up in Ontario, attended Riverdale Collegiate Institute in Toronto, and began acting in local theatre as a teenager. Before entering the profession he worked as a stockbroker and studied method acting under Eli Rill. His uncle is the actor Michael Kane.
Hindle made his screen debut in 1971 and is known for film roles including Chris in Black Christmas (1974), Dr Geoffrey Howell in Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), Frank Carveth in The Brood (1979) and Ted Jarvis in Porky's (1981). He has appeared in many North American television series and won a Gemini Award for Best Actor in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role for his portrayal of news director Mike Fennell in the CTV drama E.N.G. (1989–94).
