Biography
Arthur McKenzie is a British writer and former police detective. He served for 31 years with Northumbria Police, retiring as a Detective Inspector in 1988 or 1989 after rising through the ranks in Newcastle upon Tyne and working on corruption investigations in Hong Kong.
He began writing in his forties and contributed episodes to several television series, including 17 episodes of The Bill (1988–1991), two episodes of Casualty (1991–1993) and three episodes of Wycliffe (1997–1998). His other screen credits include the 2013 feature film Harrigan and the 2009 short Bait Room, on which he also served as executive producer. McKenzie has written extensively for the stage, including plays and a musical about the Jarrow March.
