Biography
Astrid Holm (born Astrid Vilhelmine Rasmussen) was a Danish theatre and film actress. She trained at the Royal Danish Ballet before leaving in 1910 to pursue acting, and performed on stage at Det Ny Teater in Copenhagen during the First World War and later at the Royal Danish Theatre.
Holm made her screen debut in 1917 and appeared in several Danish silent films. She is known for her roles as Sister Edit in Victor Sjöström’s The Phantom Carriage (1921) and Anna in Benjamin Christensen’s Häxan (1922), as well as Ida Frandsen in Carl Theodor Dreyer’s Master of the House (1925). She returned to film in the 1940s in smaller roles.
