Biography
Athol Compton is an Aboriginal Australian actor. Born in 1951, he began appearing in Australian television series in the late 1960s and early 1970s, with roles in programmes such as Skippy, Homicide and The Games (1970).
He is known for his performance as Billy Corman in Peter Weir’s The Last Wave (1977). Other credits include the television mini-series The Timeless Land (1980), in which he played Billalong, and appearances in A Country Practice (1984), Short Changed (1986) and BabaKiueria (1986).
