Biography
Aud Egede-Nissen (also credited as Aud Richter, Aud Egede Richter and Ilse Lersen) was a Norwegian actress who appeared in numerous German silent films. Born in Bergen, she made her stage debut in Norway in 1911 and her screen debut in 1913. She moved to Berlin around 1914, where she worked extensively in the German film industry until the early 1930s.
She is known for her roles as Cara Carozza in Dr. Mabuse, the Gambler (1922) and as Melanie Lubota in Phantom (1922). Egede-Nissen was also active as a producer and later as a theatre director and actress in Norway. She was married to actors Georg Alexander and Paul Richter.
