Biography
Augusta Dabney (23 October 1918 – 4 February 2008) was an American actress. Born in Berkeley, California, she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. She made her Broadway debut in Abe Lincoln in Illinois (1938) and appeared in further productions including Dear Ruth, Everything in the Garden, Seascape and Sacrilege (1995).
Dabney was a regular on several daytime soap operas, including Young Dr. Malone, Guiding Light, General Hospital, One Life to Live and Loving, where she played Isabelle Alden from 1983 to 1995. Her film roles include Mrs. Eisler in Plaza Suite (1971), the Colorado Woman in The Heartbreak Kid (1972), Abigail Patterson in Running on Empty (1988), Judge Maynard in Shakedown (1988) and Sarah Hackett in The Paper (1994). She received a BAFTA nomination for her performance in That Night! (1957). She was married to actors Kevin McCarthy and William Prince.
