Biography
Aurin Squire is an American playwright, screenwriter and reporter. Born and raised in Opa-locka, Florida, he graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor's degree in radio, television and film. He later earned an MFA in playwriting from the New School and a graduate diploma from the Juilliard School.
Squire has written for the television series This Is Us (2016), serving as story editor and writer, as well as BrainDead (2016), The Good Fight (2017) and Evil (2019), where he worked as co-executive producer and writer. His stage work includes the book for the Tony-nominated Broadway musical A Wonderful World (2024) and plays such as Obama-ology and Defacing Michael Jackson, produced in London, New York, Chicago and Miami. He has also reported for outlets including The Miami Herald, Chicago Tribune, The New Republic and ESPN.
Squire received the Helen Merrill Prize for Emerging Playwrights and Seattle Public Theatre's Emerald Prize.
