Biography
Austin Kolodney is a writer and director. He wrote the screenplay for the feature Dead Man's Wire (2025), a true-crime drama directed by Gus Van Sant and inspired by the 1977 Tony Kiritsis hostage crisis. The film stars Bill Skarsgård, Al Pacino, Colman Domingo and Dacre Montgomery.
Kolodney studied film and television production at the University of Southern California. He has directed short films including Two Chairs, Not One (2023) and Kiwi (2024), both Vimeo Staff Picks, as well as episodes of digital series for Almost Friday TV, Funny or Die, Syfy and Comedy Central. He is preparing his feature directorial debut with Josephine the Blanket.
