Biography
Ayhan Ergürsel was a Turkish film editor. He edited Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s The Small Town (1997), Clouds of May (1999), Distant (2002), Climates (2006) and Three Monkeys (2008). He also worked on Semih Kaplanoğlu’s Egg (2007) and Honey (2010), and Pelin Esmer’s 10 to 11 (2009) and Watchtower (2012).
Born in Istanbul in 1961, Ergürsel began working in film during the later years of Yeşilçam. He received the Best Editing award at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival for Climates in 2006. Six films he edited were selected for the Cannes Film Festival competition.
Ergürsel died in Istanbul in 2019.
