Biography
Babak Najafi Karami is an Iranian-Swedish film director, screenwriter and cinematographer. Born in Tehran in 1975, he moved to Sweden as a refugee at the age of 11. He studied documentary directing at the Dramatiska Institutet between 1998 and 2002.
After graduation, Najafi directed several short films. His feature debut Sebbe (2010) won a Guldbagge Award for Best Film and the Best First Feature award at the Berlin International Film Festival. He went on to direct Easy Money II: Hard to Kill (2012) and episodes of the series Banshee (2014).
Najafi made his English-language debut with London Has Fallen (2016). He later directed Proud Mary (2018).
