Biography
Barbara Pilavin was an Italian actress who later became a naturalised American citizen. She began her screen career in the mid-1960s, appearing in supporting roles in Italian films.
She worked with director Vittorio De Sica on The Garden of the Finzi-Continis (1970), playing the mother of the central character Giorgio, and on The Voyage (1974). In the early 1980s she moved to the United States, where she continued to act in films and television, often in roles depicting older Italian women or similar character parts.
Her later credits include appearances in A League of Their Own (1992), 10 to Midnight (1983) and Constantine (2005). She died in West Hollywood, California, on 2 January 2005.
