Biography
Barbara Tulliver is an American film editor. She began her career in theatre as a lighting designer before moving into editing, first as an assistant on commercials and then on feature films. Her first credit as lead editor was on David Mamet’s Homicide (1991).
She has edited numerous films for Mamet, including Oleanna (1994), The Spanish Prisoner (1997), State and Main (2000), Heist (2001), Spartan (2004) and Redbelt (2008). Tulliver also edited M. Night Shyamalan’s Signs (2002) and Lady in the Water (2006), and Paul Thomas Anderson’s Hard Eight (1996). Other credits include Brooklyn’s Finest (2009) and Dream House (2011).
Tulliver has received two Primetime Emmy nominations for her television work, for Too Big to Fail (2011) and Phil Spector (2013). She is a member of the American Cinema Editors.
