Biography
Bebe Vio, born Beatrice Maria Vio Grandis on 4 March 1997 in Venice, Italy, is a wheelchair fencer. She began fencing at the age of five and, after contracting meningitis at eleven, which led to the amputation of her hands and feet, she adapted to compete in wheelchair fencing.
Vio has won multiple Paralympic medals, including gold at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. She appeared as herself in the 2020 Netflix documentary Rising Phoenix and took part in the Paris 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremony.
