Biography
Beeban Kidron is a British film director and producer. Born on 2 May 1961 in North London, she trained at the National Film School and came to prominence with her adaptation of Jeanette Winterson's Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit (1990), which won a BAFTA award.
She has directed feature films including To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995), Swept from the Sea (1997) and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004). Kidron produced Victoria & Abdul (2017). In 2006 she co-founded the educational charity Filmclub (later Into Film) with Lindsey Mackie.
