Biography
Bill Tynan appeared as himself in the 2011 documentary Project Nim, directed by James Marsh. He was one of the caregivers and instructors on the 1970s Columbia University experiment that sought to teach American Sign Language to a chimpanzee named Nim Chimpsky.
Tynan joined the project to complete college studies using it as independent research credit. He remained involved until the conclusion of the work. He later worked as a business analyst for Country Curtains, a mail-order and retail firm in Lee, Massachusetts.
