Biography
Binod Pradhan is an Indian cinematographer, director and actor. He grew up in Kalimpong, West Bengal, where his father ran a photo studio, and trained in cinematography at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune.
Pradhan began his career assisting on films such as Charas (1976) and worked with directors including Mani Kaul and Jabbar Patel before his breakthrough as cinematographer on the cult film Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983). He has shot numerous Hindi films, including 1942: A Love Story (1993), Devdas (2002), Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003), Rang De Basanti (2006), Delhi-6 (2009), Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013), 2 States (2014), Baaghi (2016) and Kalank (2019).
He has received multiple awards for his work, including Filmfare Awards for Best Cinematography for Devdas, Rang De Basanti and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, as well as Screen Awards and others.
