Biography
Bob Clark was an American film director, screenwriter and producer. He was born Benjamin Robert Clark in New Orleans, Louisiana, on 5 August 1939 and grew up in Alabama and Florida. Clark directed, wrote the screenplay for and produced A Christmas Story (1983), collaborating with Jean Shepherd.
Between 1973 and 1983 he worked primarily in Canada, where he directed several of the country's most commercially successful films, including Black Christmas (1974), Murder by Decree (1979), Tribute (1980) and Porky's (1981). He also directed Porky's II: The Next Day (1983) and later films such as Baby Geniuses (1999).
Clark died on 4 April 2007 in a car crash in Pacific Palisades, California.
