Biography
Bolesław Sulik was a Polish screenwriter, director, editor and journalist. Born in Toruń in 1929, he left Poland after the Second World War and settled in Britain, where he worked as a film critic for Tribune and wrote screenplays.
He co-wrote the screenplay for Jerzy Skolimowski’s Deep End (1970) and collaborated with Andrzej Wajda on the script for The Shadow Line (1976). Sulik also directed documentaries, including In Solidarity (1991) for the BBC. He returned to Poland in 1991 and chaired the National Council for Radio and Television from 1993 to 1999.
Sulik died in 2012.
