Biography
Brent Dawes is a South African director and writer of animated films and television series. He has worked extensively with Sunrise Animation Studios in Cape Town as creative lead on the Jungle Beat franchise.
Dawes directed and wrote Jungle Beat: The Movie (2020). He co-directed David (2025) with Phil Cunningham and co-wrote the screenplay with Cunningham, Kyle Portbury and Sam Wilson. The biblical animated musical was produced by Sunrise Animation Studios and distributed by Angel Studios.
