Biography
Brian Osborne (26 March 1940 – 8 July 2021) was an English actor. Born in Bath, Somerset, he began acting while at school and later toured with a children's theatre company. He joined the Royal Shakespeare Company, touring Europe and the United States, and made his television debut in 1966.
Osborne was best known for his role as Pearce the coachman in the period drama Upstairs, Downstairs (1971–1972) and as Sam Lawes in the espionage series The Sandbaggers (1978–1980). He appeared in six Carry On films between 1972 and 1976, including Carry On Matron, Carry On Abroad and Carry On Behind, as well as seven episodes of the television series Carry On Laughing. Other credits include an episode of Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em (1973) and Space: 1999 (1976). He continued working in television through the 1990s and early 2000s.
