Biography
Bruce Broughton is an American composer of film, television and concert music. Born in Los Angeles, he began his career as a music supervisor at CBS Television before moving into scoring, with early television work including episodes of Hawaii Five-O, Quincy and Dallas.
His film scores include Silverado (1985), for which he received an Academy Award nomination, Young Sherlock Holmes (1985), Tombstone (1993), The Rescuers Down Under (1990), Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993) and Miracle on 34th Street (1994). He has won ten Emmy Awards and composed the first orchestral score for a video game, Heart of Darkness (1998). Broughton has lectured in composition at UCLA.
