Biography
C. Henry Gordon, born Henry Racke, was an American stage and film actor. He appeared on Broadway in the 1920s in productions including The Shanghai Gesture and The Drums of Jeopardy, and made early film appearances before entering Hollywood features in 1930.
He appeared in more than seventy films between 1930 and 1940, often cast as a villain or authority figure. His roles included Dubois in Mata Hari (1931), Insp. Ben Guarino in Scarface (1932), and Surat Khan in The Charge of the Light Brigade (1936).
Gordon died in Los Angeles on 3 December 1940, the day after leg amputation following a blood clot.
