Biography
Cameron Mitchell (born Cameron McDowell Mitzell) was an American actor whose career spanned film, television and stage from the 1940s to the 1990s.
He began on Broadway in the late 1930s and originated the role of Happy Loman in the 1949 production of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, reprising it in the 1951 film. After serving as a bombardier in the US Army Air Forces during the Second World War, he appeared in features including How to Marry a Millionaire (1953) and Carousel (1956).
Mitchell is also known for the role of Frank Braden in Hombre (1967) and as Buck Cannon in the television series The High Chaparral (1967–1971). He died in Pacific Palisades, California, in 1994.
