Biography
Carl Binder is a Canadian screenwriter and television producer. Born on 10 August 1960 in Windsor, Ontario, he began working in television in the mid-1980s, with an early credit writing an episode of the sitcom Punky Brewster.
Binder co-wrote the screenplay for the Disney animated film Pocahontas (1995) with Susannah Grant and Philip LaZebnik. He spent four seasons as a writer-producer on the period drama Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (1993–1998), also directing three episodes, and created the 1998 family series Little Men.
He is noted for his extensive contributions to the Stargate franchise, writing episodes of Stargate SG-1 (1997), Stargate Atlantis (2004) and Stargate Universe (2009), and serving as an executive producer on the latter. Binder lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
