Biography
Carmen Hayward is an American actress and producer. Born in Los Angeles, she moved with her mother and sister to Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of five. She later attended the Inner City Cultural Center and earned degrees before studying television and film production at UCLA Extension and the University of Southern California.
Hayward began her career as a singer and actress in film, television, stage and commercials, including a national tour with Burt Bacharach and Anthony Newley and a Tide detergent advertisement. Her film credits include Father of the Bride (1991) as Grace, Perfume (1991) and Boss Nigger (1975) as Clara Mae. Television work includes Starman (1987) and American Crime Story (2016). She has also produced projects and appeared in short films.
