Biography
Carol Ramsey is an American costume designer whose credits include King of New York (1990) and DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story (2004). She trained in music, earning a Bachelor of Music from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music from the New England Conservatory of Music. While studying in Boston she worked in theatrical costume shops, including the Boston Shakespeare Company, before moving into film and television.
Ramsey has designed costumes for more than thirty feature films, among them several Merchant-Ivory productions such as Mr. & Mrs. Bridge (1990), Surviving Picasso (1996) and Le Divorce (2003), as well as comedies including Meet the Fockers (2004), Horrible Bosses (2011) and Central Intelligence (2016). She received a Costume Designers Guild Award nomination for the 2001 television miniseries Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis. She is a member of the Costume Designers Guild Local 892 and United Scenic Artists Local 829, and serves on the executive committee of the Costume Design Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
