Biography
Catherine Allégret is a French actress born on 16 April 1946 in Neuilly-sur-Seine. She is the daughter of actress Simone Signoret and director Yves Allégret. She trained at the Cours Simon and made her stage debut in Luigi Pirandello's Ce soir on improvise at the Théâtre de l'Atelier.
Allégret's film roles include Catherine in Last Tango in Paris (1972) and Louise Gassion in La Vie en Rose (2007). Other credits include The Sleeping Car Murders (1965), Money Money Money (1972), Vincent, François, Paul and the Others (1974) and The Round Up (2010).
She has been married twice, first to Jean-Pierre Castaldi and then to Maurice Vaudaux. In 2004 she published the memoir Un monde à l'envers, describing sexual abuse by her stepfather Yves Montand.
