Biography
César del Campo (1922–2008) was a Cuban-Mexican actor. Born in Havana, Cuba, he began his career as a radio announcer and singer there before moving to Mexico in the late 1940s.
He appeared in numerous Mexican films from the late 1940s onwards, including several rumberas films and works with stars such as Ninón Sevilla. His credits include Lola Casanova (1949), Los bandidos de Río Frío (1956) and Luis Buñuel’s The Exterminating Angel (1962), in which he played Colonel Álvaro. He also featured in Santo films and telenovelas such as Muchacha italiana viene a casarse (1971–1972).
Del Campo worked as an actor, producer and writer, with credits extending into the 1980s. He died in Homestead, Florida, United States.
