Biography
César Moraes, also credited as Cezar Moraes or César de Moraes, is a Brazilian cinematographer. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1954, he has worked on both documentaries and popular feature films since the 1990s.
He served as director of photography on the documentary Bus 174 (2002), directed by José Padilha, as well as on several commercial successes including the Xuxa films Xuxa Requebra (1999) and Xuxa e os Duendes (2001), where he helped pioneer HDTV use in Brazil, and multiple entries in the Didi comedy series such as Simão, o Fantasma Trapalhão (1998) and Didi Quer Ser Criança (2004). He has also collaborated on documentaries with director Tetê Moraes.
