Biography
Chang Ping-Yu, also credited as Ping-Yu Chang or Bing Yue Chang, was a Taiwanese actress. She appeared in over 180 films between 1951 and the mid-1980s, frequently in supporting roles as mothers and older women.
Born on 20 June 1926 in Tianjin, she is known for her performances in A Touch of Zen (1971) as Gu Sheng-zhai's mother, Ghost of the Mirror (1974) as the young noble's mother, Shaolin Wooden Men (1976) and Cute Girl (1980). She won the Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actress for Gain Sons, Not Losing Daughters (1968). She died on 4 December 2014 in Taipei.
