Biography
Channing Wilroy is an American actor born on 8 November 1940. He first appeared on screen as Channing, the manservant, in John Waters’s Pink Flamingos (1972). He went on to take roles in five further Waters films: the prosecutor in Female Trouble (1974), Lieutenant Wilson in Desperate Living (1977), the wise-guy neighbour in Pecker (1998), the shop steward in Cecil B. Demented (2000) and a motorist in A Dirty Shame (2004).
Before his film work, Wilroy was a regular performer on the Baltimore television dance show The Buddy Deane Show in the late 1950s. He later served as music consultant on Waters’s Cry-Baby (1990). He lives in Provincetown, Massachusetts, where he runs an inn.
