Biography
Charles Downs was an American cinematographer active from the silent era into the mid-20th century. He received an uncredited cinematography credit on D. W. Griffith's Way Down East (1920) and worked as director of photography on several early 1920s features, including The Girl from Porcupine (1921), The Broken Silence (1922) and Jacqueline, or Blazing Barriers (1923).
Downs was born on 14 October 1893 in New York and died there on 30 August 1963. Later credits include photography on Catskill Honeymoon (1950).
