Biography
Charles Fox is an American composer for film and television. Born in New York City on 30 October 1940, he attended the High School of Music & Art and later studied composition with Nadia Boulanger in Paris.
Fox composed the scores for films including Barbarella (1968), Foul Play (1978) and Nine to Five (1980). He wrote numerous television themes, among them those for The Love Boat (1977) and Happy Days, and co-wrote the song "Killing Me Softly with His Song". He has also composed for ballet and classical works.
His awards include a Grammy, two Emmys and two Academy Award nominations for best original song. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2004.
