Biography
Charles Huettner is an American animator, illustrator and director. He co-created the adult animated science fiction series Scavengers Reign (2023) with Joe Bennett, serving as writer, director and executive producer. The twelve-episode series, produced by Titmouse and Green Street Pictures for Max, follows survivors stranded on an alien planet and was later acquired by Netflix.
Huettner and Bennett previously collaborated on the 2016 short film Scavengers, which formed the basis for the series. Huettner has directed and contributed to other short films including Swap Meet (2015) and segments for Off the Air. He is a founding member of the Late Night Work Club animation collective and has worked in background art and animation on projects such as the video game Night in the Woods.
Huettner grew up in Adams County, Pennsylvania, and studied at Kutztown University. Scavengers Reign received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Animated Program in 2024.
