Biography
Charles Lawton Jr. was an American cinematographer. He began his career as an assistant cameraman at First National in 1926, later working at MGM and United Artists before a long association with Columbia Pictures from 1945 until the early 1960s.
Lawton photographed The Lady from Shanghai (1947), several Budd Boetticher Westerns including The Tall T (1957), Ride Lonesome (1959) and Comanche Station (1960), as well as 3:10 to Yuma (1957), Two Rode Together (1961) and A Raisin in the Sun (1961). He was a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
