Biography
Charles Moulin (also credited as Charles Marius Auguste Moulin) was a French actor. Born on 11 December 1909 in Montélimar, Drôme, he died there on 23 January 1992. Before entering acting he worked as a swimming instructor and master-nageur.
He appeared in films from the late 1930s onwards. His credits include the role of Dominique, le berger in Marcel Pagnol’s The Baker’s Wife (La Femme du boulanger, 1938), as well as parts in L’Arlésienne (1942), Le Caïd (1960) and Un nommé La Rocca (1961). He was married to film editor Suzanne de Troeye.
On television he is noted for playing Laborie in the ORTF series Jacquou le Croquant (1969). He was nicknamed the “Tarzan français”.
