Biography
Charles Robert Carner is an American writer, director and producer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he graduated with a B.A. from Columbia College Chicago in 1978. He began his career as a screenwriter in the 1980s, with credits including the screenplays for Gymkata (1985), Let's Get Harry (1986) and Blind Fury (1989).
From the early 1990s he directed numerous television movies, often also writing them, among them A Killer Among Friends (1992), Vanishing Point (1997), Christmas Rush (2002), Red Water (2003) and Judas (2004). He directed an episode of the series Supernatural in 2012 and the feature films Witless Protection (2008) and JL Ranch (2016). Carner received a Bronze Wrangler Award for the teleplay of Crossfire Trail (2001).
