Biography
Explosions in the Sky is an American post-rock band formed in Austin, Texas, in 1999. The quartet consists of drummer Chris Hrasky and guitarists and keyboardists Michael James, Munaf Rayani and Mark Smith.
The band has composed original scores for film and television. Their work includes the music for the Netflix series American Primeval (2025), directed by Peter Berg, with whom they previously collaborated on Friday Night Lights (2004) and Lone Survivor (2013). Other scores include Prince Avalanche (2013) and Manglehorn (2014).
