Biography
Christian Argentin (11 October 1893 – 27 November 1955) was a French stage and film actor. Born in Elbeuf, Seine-Inférieure (now Seine-Maritime), he died in Paris.
He appeared in numerous French films from the silent era through the 1950s, often in supporting roles as judges, ministers, lawyers or officials. His credits include the investigating judge Desrumaux in Jean Renoir’s La Chienne (1931), L’Enfant roi (1923), Marthe Richard, au service de la France (1936) and Les dents longues (1953). He also worked extensively as a voice actor dubbing Hollywood films into French.
Argentin performed in Parisian theatre productions, including works by Marcel Pagnol and Tristan Bernard in the 1920s and 1930s.
