Biography

Christophe Lautrette is a French production designer and visual development artist based in Los Angeles. Born in Paris and raised in Toulouse, he studied applied arts at Jolimont before earning a degree in animation from Gobelins – L’École de l’Image. He began his career at Disney Feature Animation in France on A Goofy Movie (1995).

In 1996 he moved to the United States and joined DreamWorks Animation, where he worked for 21 years on films including layout on The Prince of Egypt (1998) and The Road to El Dorado (2000), visual development on Madagascar (2005) and Kung Fu Panda (2008), and art direction and character design on Bee Movie (2007). He served as production designer on The Croods (2013).

Since leaving DreamWorks in 2016, Lautrette has worked at Paramount Pictures Animation as production designer on Rumble (2021) and The Tiger’s Apprentice (2024). He received an Annie Award nomination for production design on The Croods.
