Biography
Christopher Cleveland is a screenwriter and producer, also credited as Chris Cleveland. He was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Watts. He studied film at the Art Center College of Design.
His first script sale became Oliver Stone's Nixon (1995). Cleveland wrote the screenplays for Glory Road (2006), McFarland, USA (2015, with Bettina Gilois and Grant Thompson) and the television film Bessie (2015). He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for the latter.
Cleveland has collaborated with directors including Oliver Stone, Taylor Hackford and Niki Caro, and actors such as Denzel Washington and Kevin Costner.
