Biography
Chuck Austen is an American television producer, writer and former comic book artist and storyboard artist. Born Chuck Beckum in California in 1960, he began his career in video games as an art director at Electronic Arts before moving into animation.
He is credited as producer and supervising producer on the first season of Steven Universe (2013–2014). Austen has worked as executive producer on She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018–2020) and Dragons: The Nine Realms (2021–2022), and as supervising producer on Dawn of the Croods (2015–2017). He co-created the animated series Tripping the Rift (2004–2007) and has directed and storyboarded on series including King of the Hill and The Cleveland Show.
