Biography
CJ Mirra is a composer and sound designer based in the United Kingdom. He began scoring surf films, working extensively with director Chris McClean on more than twenty shorts that toured as live audio-visual performances. His credits include the original score for the documentary Translate and the album Static (Original Surf Soundtracks Vol. 1).
Mirra has scored feature films including A Banquet (2021), Nascondino (2021), Layla (2024) and My Father's Shadow (2025), the latter co-composed with Duval Timothy. He also contributed music to television series such as Make or Break, Kidnapped and Rescue: HI-Surf. His sound design on the documentary Time Trial (2018) received a British Independent Film Award nomination for Best Sound. He has created immersive installations and collaborated on recordings with artists including Roxanne Tataei.
