Biography
Claes Bang is a Danish actor. He was born Claes Kasper Bang on 28 April 1967 in Odense and graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 1996. He began his career in Danish theatre and television, appearing in series such as Borgen (2010) and The Bridge (2011).
Bang gained international recognition for his leading role as Christian in Ruben Östlund's The Square (2017), for which he won the European Film Award for Best Actor. Subsequent credits include The Northman (2022) as Fjölnir, the Apple TV+ series Bad Sisters (2022) as John Paul 'JP' Williams, the BBC/Netflix series Dracula (2020) as the title character, and the film Bonjour Tristesse (2025) as Raymond. He is married to actress and director Lis Louis-Jensen.
