Biography
Claire Adams (born Beryl Vere Nassau Adams) was a Canadian actress who appeared in silent films. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 24 September 1898 and educated in Canada and England. During the First World War she worked as a nurse with the Red Cross.
In 1920 she signed a contract with Hollywood producer Benjamin B. Hampton, whom she married in 1924. She appeared in more than forty silent films, including The Penalty (1920) as Barbara Ferris and The Big Parade (1925) as Justyn Reed. She later married Australian Donald John Scobie Mackinnon and lived in Australia until her death on 25 September 1978 in Melbourne.
