Biography
Clemens Scheitz (1899–1980) was a German actor and musician. Born in Munich, he worked as a pianist, giving concerts and lessons, and appeared in small acting roles from the 1920s. He also pursued interests in physics and invention.
Scheitz is known for his late-career appearances in four films directed by Werner Herzog: as the scribe in The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser (1974), Adalbert in Heart of Glass (1976), Scheitz in Stroszek (1977) and the clerk in Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979). He also contributed piano music to Herzog's Woyzeck (1979).
