Biography

Clément Harari (1919–2008) was an Egyptian-born French actor and theatre director. Born in Cairo, he appeared in more than two hundred film and television roles, often in supporting parts, between 1951 and 2004.

His screen credits include uncredited appearances in Charade (1963) and The Longest Day (1962), as well as the role of the rabbi in Train of Life (1998). He played Dr. Wretch in The Fiendish Plot of Dr. Fu Manchu (1980) and Dr. Haquenbusch in Inspector Blunder (1980). Harari also directed stage productions, including La Mort de Tarelkine at the Théâtre de la Huchette in 1948.

He was the grandfather of filmmaker Arthur Harari, cinematographer Tom Harari and illustrator Lucas Harari.
