Biography
Cobbie Yates is a British-Ghanaian costume designer from south-east London. He began working as a stylist on magazines and music videos at the age of 17 and co-founded the Orange Soda Film Club in London around 2013. His first feature credit came with A Moving Image (2016), directed by Shola Amoo.
Yates has worked on features including Pirates (2021), on which he assisted as his brother Reggie Yates directed; The Silent Twins (2022), which he co-designed; Layla (2024); and Urchin (2025). His television credits include The Fear Index (2022), Without Sin (2022), Who Is Erin Carter? (2023), Queenie (2024) and Missing You (2025). He was selected for the BAFTA Breakthrough cohort in 2024.
